Side note: Looking for some new customized Holiday artwork if any artists are interested.
The original version of this in-game Holiday is a lot different than its current incarnation, but the main idea has remained the same throughout the years: Gather Love Token from farming up Lovely Charm Bracelet, snagging a Heart-Shaped Box or two, and doing your round of dailies.
Love Is In The Air is mostly about the things listed above, but there is a nefarious plot underfoot that you need to uncover. Be a detective and gather the clues, confront the patsies, locate the real deal, and take out the trash! And with that little intro, we're going to start right off with the traditional bread-crumb quests that are packaged with every Holiday!
- Uncommon Scents/Uncommon Scents: The tried and true breadcrumb. Not required, but we're putting it here anywhere. A Junior Inspector/Junior Detective suspects foul play by the Crown Chemical Co. for their shady activities and a representative has been sent to Stormwind City and Orgrimmar to fill you in on the current state of the investigation. A Junior Inspector/Junior Detective is waiting near the Crown Chemical Co. camps to point you in the direction of Inspector Snip Snagglebolt/Detective Snap Snagglebolt.
- Something Stinks/Something Stinks: Your respective Snagglebolt needs you to take their Snagglebolt's Air Analyzer and run around town, using it on six guards that are covered in purple fumes to get an analysis on what's really going on with these new Crown Chemical Co. products.
- Pilfering Perfume/Pilfering Perfume: Snagglebolt wants supposed. The Crown Chemical Co. stockpile for both factions are just outside the main gates of Stormwind and Orgrimmar, and to the left. You will receive a goblin disguise; Snagglebolt's Cloaking Device, to cover your tracks so you can get your hands on the Crown Chemical Co. Supplies before they notice you're not with the company. While disguised, you are not able to mount or transform, you can only run. And you have a two minute time limit. Return to your Snagglebolt to move on to the next step of the investigation.
- Fireworks At The Gilded Rose/Snivel's Sweetheart: The Crown Chemical Co. Supplies contained chemical-filled rockets with a design that Snagglebolt recognizes as being made by Snivel Rustrocket. To locate his whereabouts, you're sent to find his "girlfriend" to obtain more information. Alliance players are heading to the Gilded Rose to speak with Marion Sutton, while Horde players are heading down into the Drag to talk to Roka at Gotri's Traveling Gear.
- Hot On The Trail/Hot On The Trail: Snivel.. Is a liar. The annoyed ladies send you on a chase around either city to try and locate Snivel. Stop in at the bank, the auction house, and the barber shop for either faction to catch him fleeing the scene each turn. Return to the ladies to discover that they think Snivel is trying to run out on them to the South Seas!
- A Friendly Chat.../A Friendly Chat...: Alliance players need to head down to the Stormwind Harbor to catch Snivel waiting for his boat. Horde players need to head to the eastern zeppelin tower in town. Once you've caught up to Snivel, he'll hand out Snivel's Ledger, which Snagglebolt wants to look at to garner more information for the investigation. With the information within, he decides it's time to send you to take down the big boys. If you're not at level 100, this is where your part in the investigation ends.
- Man On The Inside/Man On The Inside: For those at the current level cap, you'll be directed by Snagglebolt to speak with Investigator Fezzen Brasstacks inside of the Shadowfang Keep, but not the normal version of the instance, you have to go through the Holiday queue.
- You've Been Served: After meeting up with Investigator Fezzen Brasstacks, he tasks you with serving the Apothecary Trio with a Court Subpoena from your Standard Apothecary Serving Kit. This leads you into the Holiday boss fight that you should, for best possible results, be tackling in a group.
- Something is in the Air (and it Ain't Love)/Something is in the Air (and it Ain't Love): Upon the defeat of the three apothecaries, with tactics that will be listed a little bit further down in the guide, you will receive a Faded Lovely Greeting Card/Faded Lovely Greeting Card to return to your specific Snagglebolt.
Look out for your friendly, neighborhood Public Relations Agent and be prepared to feel like one of those perfume ladies at the mall. While performing the three following dailies, if at any point you attempt to use one of the items on a target that already has the debuff Sample Satisfaction, you will not receive credit for the item use. Each of these dailies 5 Love Token.
- A Cloudlet of Classy Cologne: Douse ten targets with the Crown Cologne Sprayer.
- A Perfect Puff of Perfume: Douse ten targets with the Crown Perfume Sprayer.

Now that all of the quests and daily quests are out of the way, we can finally get to finishing off the diabolical plot that the Snagglebolts were having you investigate. The men behind hiring Snivel Rustrocket and having him pump his rockets full of a not-so-innocent "love potion"? The Apothecary Trio in charge of the Crown Chemical Co. Apothecary Hummel, Apothecary Baxter, and Apothecary Frye are located inside a special instanced version of the Shadowfang Keep. Before we go any further, this is a reminder that you have to be at level 100 to be able to access this boss. Blizzard has confirmed that all Holiday event bosses will be max level content only. You can queue through the LFD UI by selection the Crown Chemical Co. in the drop-down menu, or you can speak with any Steamwheedle Shyster to be queued up as well. Unlike previous years, you will now spawn directly on the stairs leading down into the courtyard. All three of the Apothecaries must be defeated before you will be able to get any loot.
- The Monologue: After Apothecary Hummel's little monologue, the fight will start. For the first eight seconds of the encounter, you will only be dealing with Hummel by himself.
- Apothecary Hummel
- Alluring Perfume: This is a constant aura around Hummel for anyone in melee range. This can be easily negated by using the Perfume Neutralizer available on the table next to where the fight takes place.
- Alluring Perfume Spray: This is Hummel's main attack and it is a melee-range frontal-cone attack that is aimed at his highest threat target, try to aim it away from the group. Or anyone that isn't wearing the correct neutralizer.
- Chain Reaction: Hummel will spawn a small alchemy table and after 3 seconds, it will explode and damage anyone near it.
- The Next Eight Seconds: After eight seconds of dealing with Hummel, he demands that Baxter assist him in trying to kill you. He, of course, listens.
- Apothecary Baxter
- Irresistible Cologne: Much like Hummel's Perfume aura, Baxter has a constant melee range aura as well. Also like Hummel's, this can be easily negated by utilizing the Cologne Neutralizer on the same table as the Perfume Neutralizer. Only one can be active at a time.
- Irresistible Cologne Spray: This is Baxter's main attack and it is a melee-range frontal-cone attack that is aimed at his highest threat target, try to aim it away from the group. Or just anyone that isn't wearing the correct neutralizer.
- Chain Reaction: Just like Hummel, he will spawn an alchemy table that will explode after 3 seconds, damaging everyone in the immediate vicinity.
- Again With the Eight Seconds?: After dealing with those two for eight more seconds, Hummel yells at Apothecary Frye to quit dilly-dallying and get to work on killing us. I'm not entirely sure if he actually listens or not.
- Apothecary Frye
- Lingering Fumes: The most annoying part of this entire fight is Frye's inability to be controlled. He has no aggro table and he is constantly throwing out either vials of perfume or cologne that burst into damaging clouds that linger. The neutralizers only work on one of the other type, so you're going to be constantly taking damage once Frye enters the fight. The only good part? He can be stunned. Rotate them.
- Throw Perfume: Frye will throw out a vial of perfume that will burst into a cloud on the ground, try not to stand in it if you don't have the Perfume Neutralizer.
- Throw Cologne: Frye will throw out a vial of cologne that will burst into a cloud on the ground, try not to stand in it if you don't have the Cologne Neutralizer.
- More Apothecaries?!
- Crazed Apothecary: These adds will be spawning consistently throughout the entire fight. Due to how short the fight can be though, there have been reports of not a single one of these adds spawning at all. Count your blessings, I guess.
- Unstable Reaction: If one does happen to spawn during your encounter, it is going to run around aimlessly for a bit and then explode, dealing quite a bit of damage to anyone in the immediate area. They take after Frye and have no aggro table. Avoid at all costs to limit damage taken.
- Heart-Shaped Box - Only available on your first kill per day.
- 5-10x Love Token
- Forever Lovely Rose: A very simple headpiece involving a rose. For all female toons, it tucks the rose behind an ear. For all male toons, it's placed within the teeth, like a tango dancer.
- Vile Fumigator's Mask: A gas-mask headpiece with an attached fumigation backpack. The on-use effect is still comically useless.
- Toxic Wasteling: Teaches the Toxic Wasteling battle pet. It still consumes critters and grows larger as it do so.
- The Heartbreaker: An interesting item originally built to explode chest cavities. Instead, you just burst into tears. This item was turned into a Toy with the release of Warlords of Draenor and the Toy Box.
- Big Love Rocket: Big Love Rocket. Do I really have to say anything?
- Hummel's Corpse (Loot Phase)
- Shard of Pirouetting Happiness
- Choker of the Pure Heart
- Winking Eye of Love
- Sweet Perfume Broach
- Heartbreak Charm
- These new necklaces come with an on-use effect that unleashes the Love Rocket, acquiring a single necklace from the event is on your to-do list, you'll find out why in the achievement section at the end of the guide.
- Faded Lovely Greeting Card/Faded Lovely Greeting Card: Only available if you'd never done the quest before in the past.
- Something is in the Air (and it Ain't Love)/Something is in the Air (and it Ain't Love): Head back to the Snagglebolt for the finale of the storyline revolving around the Love is in the Air event. Kind of lackluster, don't you think?

Completing all of the necessary achievements below will bestow upon you the title of 'the Love Fool' and grant you the meta achievement: Fool For Love!
- Be Mine! : Though the Bag of Heart Candies are cheaper than most of the other required-to-collect items, you have the potential to spend an unreasonable amount of Love Token (two per) on fighting the RNG in an attempt to get all of the Heart Candies required to complete the achievement. My recommendation is to get help from Trade, your Guild, or friends, and trade out messages to each other instead of wasting your Love Token on purchasing a continuous stream of Bag of Heart Candies.
- Heart Candy, Heart Candy, Heart Candy, Heart Candy, Heart Candy, Heart Candy, Heart Candy, Heart Candy
- Charming : If you're planning on doing any farming of the Lovely Charm to create a bucket-load of the Lovely Charm Bracelet, then you are guaranteed to get this achievement relatively early on. Remember: You have to have your Lovely Charm Collector's Kit.
- Dangerous Love : Simply complete the Holiday questline until the Crushing the Crown dailies open up for your level bracket. Upon completion, you will receive this achievement as part of your reward.
- Fistful of Love : You have eleven targets, but the Handful of Rose Petals come in sets of five, so you're going to have to purchase three sets, with a waste of three. No, my math isn't wrong, you have another achievement in need of Handful of Rose Petals. As with Be Mine!, I would recommend getting help and giving your extras to others who might need help.
- Gnome Warlock, Orc Death Knight, Human Death Knight, Night Elf Priest, Orc Shaman, Tauren Druid, Undead Warrior, Troll Rogue, Blood Elf Mage, Draenei Paladin, Dwarf Hunter
- Flirt With Disaster/Flirt With Disaster : To complete this achievement, you're going to need to pick up a few things beforehand. First one, you're going to need one leftover Handful of Rose Petals, pick up one of the three perfume choices from your Holiday vendor, and then purchase the strongest alcohol you can find. Once completed, you need to look for Sraaz in Ironforge if you're an Alliance or Jeremiah Payson in the Undercity if you're Horde. Put on your best perfume, get completely smashed, throw a Handful of Rose Petals on them, and then /kiss them.
- I Pitied The Fool : This one requires the most work out of all of the achievements. Working alone, you will have to spend 50 Love Token just to get the five necessary Love Fool for the achievement. As I've said before, I'd find a group of people willing to cooperate and knock these out handily. All you have to do is head to the five locations, thrown down one of the Love Fool, and then /pity them.
- Literally anywhere in Wintergrasp.
- The Battle Ring of Gurubashi Arena in the northern half of The Cape of Stranglethorn.
- The Arathi Basin Blacksmith.
- The Culling of Stratholme.
- Naxxramas.
- Lonely? : Head up to Dalaran and set up a Romantic Picnic Basket with another person. Enjoy some Buttermilk Delight together.
- My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose : With this achievement, you are looking to pick up one of the two bouquets from some very specific bosses:
- Bouquet of Red Roses : Asira Dawnslayer in Hour of Twilight, Corla, Herald of Twilight in Blackrock Caverns, High Priestess Azil in The Stonecore, Drahga Shadowburner in Grim Batol, Echo of Jaina in End Time, Admiral Ripsnarl in The Deadmines, Lord Godfrey in Shadowfang Keep.
- Bouquet of Ebon Roses : Echo of Sylvanas in End Time, Admiral Ripsnarl in The Deadmines, Lord Godfrey in Shadowfang Keep.
- Nation of Adoration/Nation of Adoration : This achievement requires you to create a Lovely Charm Bracelet for each faction leader and complete their Love is in the Air turn-ins.
- Alliance: A Gift for the King of Stormwind, A Gift for the High Priestess of Elune, A Gift for a Lord of Ironforge, A Gift for the Prophet.
- Horde : A Gift for the Warchief, A Gift for the High Chieftain, A Gift for the Banshee Queen, A Gift for the Regent Lord of Quel'Thalas.
- Shafted! : This one requires that you purchase a set of ten Silver Shafted Arrow and use them on potential targets. Any targets that already have the pet summoned through this item will cause an "Invalid Target" error. Getting the amount of arrows needed to complete this achievement will cost 10 Love Token.
- Sweet Tooth : A Box of Chocolates costs 10 Love Token alone, so purchase sparingly. You need to eat one of every single type of chocolate from this box. Luckily, the chocolates are not soulbound, so you can trade or purchase them to save Love Token for other purchases. Be sure to save a Buttermilk Delight for the Lonely? achievement.
- The Rocket's Pink Glare : Remember back during the Lunar Festival when you had to get those ten Red Rocket Clusters for The Rocket's Red Glare? Well, Love is in the Air has the exact same thing. Pick up a stack of ten Love Rocket and launch them in less than 20 seconds. Follow the standard advice of placing the Love Rocket on a hot key and you won't be able to mess this achievement up without some skill. It's going to cost you 10 Love Token, so make sure to budget accordingly.
- Lovely Luck Is On Your Side : The Lovely Black Dress has a 25% chance of appearing inside of a Lovely Dress Box. While this may not seem like a low percentage, there are quite a few people that end up going without one. The Lovely Black Dress is the only dress that comes from the Lovely Dress Box that is NOT BoP. So share it with your friends, or the Auction House, or your twinks and bank toons.
- Tough Love : Get to max level, queue into the Holiday boss fight, and defeat the Apothecary Trio. Done.
- Perma-Peddle : You're going to need 40 Love Token that you won't be needing for anything else, if you're working alone. Simply purchase the Truesilver Shafted Arrow and learn the battle pet Peddlefeet.
- Love Magnet : Introduced in 2015, you need to get blasted with a Manufactured Love Prism by ten people.
- Beacon of Love : When you've passed the ten stack mark, you need to keep going to get to this one and hit the 25 stack mark.
- They Really Love Me! : Don't stop now if you've completed the first two steps! You're on the final stretch here. Shoot for 50 stacks and you'll receive the True Love Prism Toy for your Toy Box. There should be plenty of LFG premades up to get this one done if it's anything like last year.
- It Might Just Save Your Life : Activate the on-use effect on one of the Holiday necklaces that drop from the Apothecary Trio to unleash the Love Rocket.
- Big Love Rocket : The Big One. The Feat of Strength. Obtain the Big Love Rocket mount contained within the Heart-Shaped Box that drop on the daily from the Apothecary Trio.
And now for the special bit at the end for all of you battle pet connoisseurs.
- Peddlefeet - Humanoid, Rare, Breed 5: S/S
- Level 1: Bow Shot | Level 2: Lovestruck | Level 4: Shot Through The Heart | Level 10: Rapid Fire | Level 15: Perfumed Arrow | Level 20: Love Potion
